Welcome to my portfolio!

This portfolio was created to showcase my work for Applied Internship in Human Development and Family Science (HDFS 5910).  In our classes, we study how biological, sociological, and psychological factors all work together to influence how a person develops.

For HDFS 5910 specifically, we chose an internship that aligned with our interests where we could apply course knowledge, and Family Connection-Communities in Schools in Athens was the perfect internship for me.

Diversity and Inclusion Intern, Summer 2015

From May to August 2015, I served as the Diversity and Inclusion intern at Family Connection-Communities in Schools in Athens.

There, I was able to support Family Connection's mission of doing whatever it takes for the future of our children in the community by assisting board members in recruiting local businesses to participate in our annual fundraising event, Dine Out For Kids.

I also was able to attend regional meetings for the future of DFCS as well as partnerships between community leaders and faculty at the University of Georgia.

My time at Family Connection-Communities in Schools has been incredibly educational and fulfilling.

EqualSpeech Training

My capstone project with Family Connection-Communities in schools is called EqualSpeech, and is intended to be used throughout the community.

EqualSpeech in an interactive training program about the history and future of protected classes in America, which laws protect them, and a framework for being an ally for people of other communities and protected classes.
